City Manager's Office
The City of Canyon Lake operates under a council-manager form of government, in which an elected City Council serves as the City’s legislative body and appoints a City Manager to oversee day-to-day municipal operations.
The City Manager is the Chief Executive Officer of the City. As the City's administrative head, they are employed by, and answers directly to, the City Council. They are responsible for the efficient administration of all affairs and departments operating within the City. They serve as an advisor to the City Council on policy matters, enacts and enforces policy directives of the City Council, appoints and leads all City staff (with the exception of the City Attorney, who reports directly to the City Council), and prepares and implements the City’s annual budget.
