City Council Appoints Arron Brown as Interim City Manager

The City Council proudly announces the appointment of Arron Brown as Interim City Manager. Mr. Brown’s selection was finalized during the April 10, 2024, City Council meeting.

Arron Brown, a dedicated Marine veteran known for his strong work ethic and operational prowess, emerged as the standout candidate during a closed session meeting, where he was interviewed by the Council. After careful consideration, Mr. Brown graciously accepted the position, which was warmly extended to him by the City Council.

Bringing over 17 years of extensive experience in government of many forms, having worked for Municipalities, a Joint Powers Authority, the County of Riverside, and the State of California, Arron Brown is well-equipped to lead the City of Canyon Lake through its evolving priorities and unique challenges. Mayor Dale Welty expressed confidence in Mr. Brown, saying, “The impressive skills and humble qualities Arron possess will help him successfully navigate the challenges and relationships the City Manager must face and foster.”

Before his appointment in Canyon Lake, Arron Brown served in various leadership roles, including Assistant City Manager and Acting City Manager for the City of Rialto, and Deputy City Manager for the City of Palm Springs. His strategic mindset and innovative approach to problem-solving have consistently driven success in diverse industries.

Mr. Brown’s educational background is equally remarkable, holding both an MBA specializing in Management and Operations and a BS in Business Administration from California Baptist University. Additionally, he has earned other notable specialized certifications in Human Resources, a SHRM-SCP from the Society for Human Resource Management, and a Certified Government Chief Information Officer, CGCIO from Rutgers University, respectively.

Residing in Riverside with his wife of 26 years, Carolyn, and their three children, Arron Brown is deeply rooted in the community. An expert marksman and enthusiast of fishing and boating, he eagerly anticipates exploring the vibrant community of Canyon Lake, from City Hall to its picturesque shoreline.
